Digipaks: Colour Scheme

Throughout my final digipaks I have used a constant colour scheme of beige, black, white and I have slightly used purple.

I chose to use the colour black as it can connote sophistication and elegance, which can display how much more mature the singers’ music has become since her previous albums. Furthermore, the colour black is a strong colour, and having a strong album would be an aim for the singer.

While I used the colour white as it compliments well with the black. Similarity white can connote simplicity and this can match with the album’s simple design theme.

Whilst I decided to also use the colour beige/ cream as it compliments well with the other colours, additionally, beige can connote a calming tone to the design – which could suggest that the album has some calming styled songs. However, as I have used the colour beige less than the other two colours – this can suggest how there is only a few calming songs on the album.

I have also used the colour purple as it is a bright and vibrance colour and this will allow my album to become more eye-catching. Furthermore, pop albums will use the convention of bright colours as it can emphasis the fun tone of the album. However, I have only slightly used the colour purple throughout my digipaks as I felt too much purple would contrast too much with my colour scheme of white, beige and black – while only small amount of purple can compliment well, without making my colour scheme too contrasting.
