Questionnaire Results

From looking at the results from my questionnaire I had fourteen responses back. A majority of females answered my questions rather than males. Although, I did expected this as my chosen artist, Taylor Swift, does appeals to females more than males. Furthermore, due to this I think that having more female opinions rather than males will be more beneficial as they are more common members in my target audience.

The age category of 19 to 25 were the highest age group that answered my questionnaire while the second highest group was the category 13 to 18 years old, These are both good age groups to review as they are both members of my target audience, therefore this can display how their answers will be relevant to my questionnaire as it further give me a better understanding of what my target audience thinks. While a few people answered my questionnaire from the age group 26 to 32. Although they aren't members of my target audience there answers will still be beneficial to me as I will be able to see from their opinions and this will give further ideas towards the planning for my video.

My next question was a multiple choice question that asked my target audience what types of music videos they enjoy watching. The choices I gave them were narrative music videos, animated music videos, abstract music videos and live action music videos. The highest choice was narrative music videos while abstract music videos being the lowest. These results are helpful and relevant to my work as my intentions are to make a narrative music video.

I then decided to ask my target audience why would watch these music videos. The comments I had back were quite mixed results. Some people said they enjoyed watching music video as they like to see the lyrics come to live. Others said they enjoyed watching music videos as they liked seeing the artist's intentions for that song. While other said that would watch these music videos as they were entertaining and fun to watch.

Then I asked them what two genres they liked to listen to the most. The most popular choice was pop. This was beneficial to me as this my chosen genre was pop. This was also helpful to me as it meant that people who were taking my survey, fitted within my target audience. However, I thought that this would be expected as pop is a well known genre. I found that the least popular answer was classical.

My sixth question was if my target audience watched music videos for that genre to give me a better idea of the size of my target audience. For my answer there was a spilt between the answer sometimes and yes which can show me that it is more likely for people to watch music videos.

Linking back to my last question I decided to ask them why they would or wouldn't watch music videos for that genre. One of the most common answers that I got was that people would watch music videos to support the artist; this can showcase how important the artist is to members of the target audiences.

I then decided to ask my target audience how important to they find the use of props and outfits to be within a music video. I found their answers to be beneficial to me as I plan to use many props and outfits throughout my video. The best answer which I had from this was that they had some important but were relevant for the storyline within the music video.

For my next question I decided to ask my target audience where they think a good location for a pop music would be out of a various selection. I gave them options to choose from such as pavements, school/work locations, beach, forests and theme parks. The most popular answer that I received from my target audience was the option of the beach. The second popular option was a work/school environment. As I think using a location of a work or school environment would be more relevant to my current storyboard and would be an easier location to access and film.

For my final question I decided to ask if my target audience had any ideas or suggestions that I could include in my video. Most people skipped answering this, however, I did expect that as I had only briefly mentioned what my video plan was. Some of the comments that I had for question I have found beneficial and helpful.
