Questionnaires

I decided to create a survey asking members of my target audience about ideas for my music video. I decided to include basic questions such as gender and age so that I could have a better idea of what age group my target audience would be and also if there would be a majority of which gender my video could appeal to. While I asked other questions such as what types of music videos they enjoyed and why they enjoyed them. As well, I decided to include other questions including what genre of music they enjoyed the most and why they watched music videos. These questions will be beneficial to my work as they will give a better understanding of why music videos are important and target audience's own opinion on them. Furthermore, I decided to create a question regarding mise-en-scene and how important my target audience thinks the use of clothes and props are; as in my video, I do plan to use several costume changes and props throughout to display a narrative element. I also included a questions about my target audience's opinion on where they think I should shoot my video. Finally, I end my questionnaire with a question asking if my target audience had any ideas or suggestions for my music video. This allows my target audience to have an influence towards the making of my music video. Furthermore, my target audiences' comments will help me to create a music video that will appeal to them. As their comments will give me an idea of what my target audience's thoughts are and what I should include within my video.

I decided to create my survey on a website called SurveryMonkey rather than just printing off sheets and asking people to fill them in. As I found that by making my survey online that my target audience would be wider and this can make my answers more accurate as I was able to ask a wider range of people rather than just peers. I asked people to fill out my survey by sending out emails and posting messages on social networks like Facebook and Tumblr, as I believe that members of my target audience would often use these sites.
